About the Brand
Women are so much more than just pretty. They are strong, complicated, sensitive and scarred. Nöelziñia somehow instinctively captures the delicate nuances of femininity and strength, resulting in a whispy, unstructured clothing line created on the principles of effortless beauty. The juxtaposition of sheer ruffles, elegant luxury fabrics with down and dirty denim and destroyed edges conveys our complexity - gritty and bittersweet, loving and abundant. Like a lifetimes worth of memories and experiences.
History - our history - is reinvented, redefined in a way where women control the narrative. If clothing indeed reflects who we are, it should be personalized to fit whatever she’s feeling...strong, vulnerable, feminine, rebellious all with the freedom, diversity and worldliness of modern women.
For the free thinkers, artists, travellers and interesting women of the world- the ones with a story to tell, who walk their own path, fearlessly.
In the same insightful, knowing way Nöelziñia has approached feminine dressing, she is diligently working on the creation of a masculine range with strength of line, lightness of palette and unexpected joyfulness.
About the Designer
Noele Baptista is a Kingsville Ontario based designer and co-proprietor of Windblown & Weathered- a small art, clothing and decor shoppe in her hometown. She is the founder of “Nöelziñia” clothing brand, named for her father’s nickname for her as a young girl. Interested in drawing since her earliest memories, this talent was nurtured by her artist mother and business partner, and fashion became her muse.
A common thread in her lines are billowy silhouettes with cascading ruffles, upcycled and patchwork denim, and the element of hand painted and wearable art by Susan Dupont Baptista. Having completed the Fashion Design Technician Program at St. Clair College she now devotes her time to developing her craft and businesses.
Inspired by the culture of her long-deceased father, a captain who was of Portuguese descent, she has been on a journey to reconnect, explore and understand the missing parts of her culture, and is an avid student of the world.
