Fall Doesn’t Have to Be Black & White

When we think of fall fashion, it’s easy to picture a sea of black, beige, brown and cream. While I love a good neutral outfit, I don’t think fall has to mean putting colour away until spring.

Can you show me some colour? Yes!

The fashion world seems to agree. This year’s fall collections have been making a strong case for colour, with designers showcasing everything from electric blue and rich purple to burgundy, peach and turquoise. Even turquoise — a colour we often associate with summer — is making its way into fall wardrobes.

It feels like fashion is moving away from the idea that everything needs to be muted and minimal — which I personally am so excited about! There’s a little more personality, a little more experimentation and, most importantly, a lot more colour.

Bringing Colour Into Your Fall Wardrobe

You don’t have to completely change your wardrobe to add more colour. Sometimes one colourful piece is all you need.

Try:

- A jewel-toned dress with neutral boots

- A colourful jacket over an otherwise simple outfit

- Rich greens and teals instead of the usual black

- A colourful accessory with your favourite everyday basics

This teal dress was made with exactly that idea in mind. It feels unexpected for fall, but pair it with boots, a jacket and your favourite accessories, and suddenly you have a fall outfit that feels completely at home in the season.

For me, fashion has always been about having fun with what you wear. I love creating pieces that feel feminine and easy to wear, but still have something a little different about them.

Wear What Makes You Happy

There are no rules saying that your fall wardrobe needs to be neutral. If you love colour, wear the colour! If teal makes you happy, wear teal in October. If pink is your favourite, keep wearing it. If you want to wear a bright dress with boots and a coat, go for it.

Fall fashion can be cozy, beautiful and colourful all at once.
